RADNOR, PA – The Cavaliers battled through the classic let down game today and extended their Colonial States Athletic Conference win streak with a 16-6 win over the visiting Marywood University Pacers today at Edith Robb Dixon Field.
The Cavaliers' fifth consecutive win improved the Blue and White to 10-3 overall and a perfect 5-0 in the CSAC. The win also extended its conference win streak to an NCAA record 105 games.
Statistically, the Cavaliers seemed to control the game, as it outshot the Pacers 53-26 and won 19 of the game's 25 faceoffs.
Sophomore
Bill Morgan recorded a career high seven points on four goals and three assists to lead the Cavaliers. Fellow sophomores
Timmy Brooks and
Jordan Krug matched Morgan with four goals.
Junior
Riley Michaels provided a spark for the Cabrini offense, winning 15 of his 19 chances at the faceoff spot and securing a career high 10 ground balls. Freshmen
Tommy DeLuca and
Matt Nestler scooped four ground balls each, while Nestler recorded 10 saves in the win.
Despite building a 14-8 shot advantage in the opening 15 minutes, Cabrini could not find its offensive rhythm. Trailing 1-0, Krug found Morgan to even the score at the 11:16 mark, before senior
Evan Downey gave the Cavaliers their first lead with 6:40 left in the first.
The teams exchanged goals with the Pacers leveling the score at 3-3 with a goal in the final seconds of the period.
Cabrini found its mojo after a speech from head coach
Steve Colfer between the first and second quarters. The Cavaliers outshot the Pacers 18-2 in the second quarter, finding the back of the net 10 times.
Krug took the lead on the Blue and White attack, recording all four of his goals in the period, as Cabrini pushed its lead to 10-3 at the break.
The Pacers cut into their halftime deficit with the only two goals scored in the third quarter.
Brooks snapped Cabrini's nearly 19 minute scoreless drought 2:33 into the final quarter, as the Blue and White pushed its lead to 11-5. The lead swelled to 12-5 before Marywood scored its lone goal of the final period.
Junior Rob Maini led the Pacers (6-9, 3-2 CSAC) with three goals, while senior defenseman paired three caused turnovers with a game high six ground balls.

Steve Colfer and the Cavaliers for breaking the NCAA record for consecutive conference wins.
The Blue and White set the mark with a 26-1 win at Keystone College on April 1, marking its 103rd straight win.
The Cavaliers will face their final nonconference test on Friday, as they welcome No. 14 Stevenson University (9-3) to Edith Robb Dixon Field. The opening faceoff is slated for 6:30pm.
