RADNOR, PA – The Cabrini women's lacrosse team closed its Colonial States Athletic Conference slate today with a 17-2 victory over the visiting Centenary University Cyclones at Edith Robb Dixon Field.
The victory improved the Cavaliers to 13-3 overall and 9-0 in league play. The triumph marked the program's fifth consecutive undefeated conference season and extended its CSAC win streak to 49 games.
The win also solidified the top seed in the upcoming CSAC Tournament. As the tournament's number one seed, the Blue and White earns home field and a bye into the tournament's semifinal round, scheduled for Wednesday, May 3.
The Cavaliers were in control of today's action from the opening whistle, as freshman
Lauren Hughes netted two goal in the opening 47 seconds of play.
Cabrini posted the game's first 13 goals before the Cyclones marked the scoring column with just south of nine minutes left in the first half.
The Blue and White outshot Centenary 21-3 and held the Cyclones to 2-10 in clear attempts in the opening 30, as it built a 13-1 lead at the half.
Five Cavaliers joined Hughes with two goals on the day. Among the group was sophomore
Avery Murphy, who also tallied two assists. Senior

Liz Hoeffner add solo assists to their two goals.
Junior
Jackie Neary handed out a game high three helpers, while senior
Allie Vallen paired a goal and an assist. Junior
Emily Crouse also marked the scoring column twice, while classmate
Gabby Lee and freshman
Gabby LeGendre also scored for the Cavaliers, with LeGendre's goal marking the first of her career.
Murphy paired three ground balls and three draw controls, while freshman
Mattie Porter added three ground balls and pair of draw controls. Neary earned game high honors with four draw controls.
Sophomores
Emma Rodner-Tims,
Kerri Anderson and
MaryKate Keenan caused two turnovers each in the win.
All three of Cabrini's goaltenders saw action in today's win. Senior
Megan Barlow recorded one save to earn her 13th win of the season, while sophomore
Devon Scharf and freshman
Noelia Ramirez combined for three saves in relief.
Seniors Priscilla Ortiz and Abby Voelkner scored for the Cyclones (2-11, 2-7 CSAC).
Cabrini will close its regular season on Tuesday, as it welcomes the University of Scranton (8-4) to Edith Robb Dixon Field. The opening draw is scheduled for 6pm.
