RADNOR, PA – The Cabrini men's lacrosse team will host its 17th consecutive Colonial States Athletic Conference championship game next Saturday, after the top seeded Cavaliers scored a 16-3 win over Gwynedd Mercy in today's tournament semifinal.
The No. 10 Cavaliers will face number two seed Marywood (9-9) in Saturday's title game, after the Pacers scored a 15-5 win over number three seed Centenary. Stay tuned to CabriniAthletics.com for game time.
Today's semifinal win extended the Blue and White's win streak to nine games and improved the club to 14-3 overall.
The Cavaliers got significant contributions from up and down the line-up today, as eight players marked the scoring column.
Sophomore
Timmy Brooks led the way with six points on three goals and three assists. Sophomore
Bill Morgan matched Brooks with three goals, while classmate
Jordan Krug and junior
Zack Gregory tallied two goals and an assist each.
Senior
Evan Downey and freshman
Mike Gerzabek also scored twice, while sophomore

Cabrini's control of today's action stemmed from a dominance at the faceoff spot, where it won 18 of the game's 22 draws. Junior
Riley Michaels went 17-19 with a career high 11 ground balls.
Michaels helped the Cavaliers build a 37-24 edge in ground balls, as freshman goaltender
Matt Nestler added four ground balls to his six saves, while Brooks secured three ground balls.

The Cavaliers built an early lead as Brooks found Gregory for the game's first goal in the opening minute. Thirty-five seconds later, freshman
Tyler Kostack hit Brooks to double the lead. Downey tallied both of his goals in a 41 second span late in the period to give Cabrini a 4-0 lead after the first quarter.
The scoring run continued into the second frame, as Gerzabek, Krug and Brooks extended the lead to 7-0 before Gwynedd Mercy got on the board. Kostack and Krug combined for a goal with 67 seconds left in the half, as Cabrini carried an 8-1 lead into the break.
Cabrini never allowed the Griffins to find any consistent rhythm, as it outscored Gwynedd Mercy 4-1 in the second, third and fourth quarters.
Sophomore Ryan Simpson paired a goal and three ground balls for the Griffins (6-8), while senior Marc Bushong caused a game high three turnovers. Classmate Sean Myers posted 15 saves and seven ground balls in the loss.
The Blue and White scored a 16-6 win over Marywood, when the teams met on April 18.
Cabrini outshot the Pacers 53-26 and won 19 of the game's 25 faceoffs.
Morgan recorded a career high seven points on four goals and three assists to lead the Cavaliers, while Brooks and Krug matched Morgan with four goals.
Junior Rob Maini led the Pacers with three goals, while senior defenseman paired three caused turnovers with a game high six ground balls.
