The Cavaliers dominated from start to finish in the semifinal round of the 2016 CSAC tournament, as they cruised to a comfortable 21-5 victory over the Mighty Macs.
Junior
Sasha Wozniak led the Cavaliers' offense and entered the record books in the process. The sophomore paired four goals and four assists, matching a career high with eight points. Her first goal of the day came less than two minutes into the action and marked the 100th goal of her career, the 10th player in program history to accomplish the feat.
Seniors
Jess Breuning and
Allie Vallen joined Wozniak with four goals, while both added an assist. Junior
Jackie Neary notched a career high five points, including a career best three assists. Senior
Katie Lasater paired two goals and two helpers in the win.
Cabrini Last Time Out: Cabrini 19, Gwynedd Mercy 7 (4/1/17, Gwynedd Valley, PA)
The Cabrini women's lacrosse team extended its win streak to seven games against the Griffins, as it rolled to a 19-7 win at Gwynedd Mercy University.
The Blue and White received goals from 11 different players, highlighted by senior
Allie Vallen who tallied six points on the day, pairing two goals with a career high four assists. Sophomore
Liz Hoeffner added five points on three goals and two helpers, while fellow sophomore
Avery Murphy chipped in with four goals.
The victory extended the Cavaliers CSAC win streak to 44 games.
Immaculata Last Time Out: Mighy Macs Roll Cedar Crest, 14-2 (4/1/17, Center Valley, PA)
The Mighty Macs had 11 different players score goals, highlighted by freshman Layne Kennedy who picked up five points with two goals and three assists.
Junior Hannah Verrecchia had three points with two goals and one assist. Junior Brittany Whaley picked up two goals of her own, and junior Nicole Dominick registered three points with a goal and two assists.
Freshman goalie Emily Schumann recorded three saves on five shots, boosting her save percentage to an impressive 49%.
With the win, the Mac now sit in second place in the CSAC with an overall record of 6-3 (3-0 CSAC), joining the Cavaliers as the only teams that hold a perfect conference record.
