READNG, PA – The Cavaliers' offensive struggles continued today, as the Cabrini men's soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss at Alvernia University.
With the nonconference loss, the Blue and White fell to 0-5-1 on the year.
The teams combined for eight shots and three first half corner kicks, but the score sheet remained clean through 45 minutes.
After a scoreless first half, the Golden Wolves opened the scoring with a breakaway goal in the 61st minute. The Cavaliers' deficit grew 10 minutes later, as a defensive miscue led to an own goal.
The Blue and White looked to create late scoring opportunities but mustered just three shots over the game's final 20 minutes of action, just one of which was on target.

Matt Ochman and
Jared Irwin combined for four of Cabrini's nine shots on the day, while sophomore goaltender
Mike Gould notched five saves.
Adam Orndorff scored for Alvernia (4-3) and joined Metuge Esong with two shots each. Goaltender Zach Rider recorded five saves in the shutout.
The Cavaliers will return to Edith Robb Dixon field on Wednesday, as they host King's College. Kickoff is slated for 4pm.
