RADNOR, PA – The Cabrini men's soccer team's search for a victory continued after a hard fought 1-0 loss to King's College at Edith Robb Dixon Field. The nonconference loss drops the Cavaliers to 0-6-1 on the year.
The Blue and White created several solid scoring chances in the opening 45 minutes of action, as it outshot the Monarch's 6-4 and earned three corner kicks to one for King's.
Monarch's senior goaltender Owen Greedey was up to the task, recording six first half saves.
Both squads continued to press for an advantage on the score board as the action moved to the second half. The Cavaliers continued to outshoot King's 4-2 after the break, but an 85th minute Cabrini foul gave the Monarchs the chance they needed.
King's set up a set piece on a direct kick about 25 minutes from the Cabrini goal, as sophomore Alastair Dinnan headed in the eventual game-winner.
Seven Cavaliers accounted for the club's 10 shots on the day, with junior
Jared Irwin and freshmen
Josh Cunningham and
Ray Wilson added two shots each.
Freshman
Anthony Zampirri recorded one save in the loss.
Dinnan tallied two of the Monarchs' (4-3) six shots, while Geedey tallied seven saves in the shutout.
Cabrini will make the short trip across Eagle Road on Saturday, as the Cavaliers visit Eastern University (6-1) in the annual Battle for Eagle Road. Kickoff is slated for 3pm.
