Radnor, PA - The Cavalier women's soccer team was back in action tonight as it hosted rival Neumann in a CSAC clash. Despite outshooting the Knights by a 27-12 margin, the Blue and White couldn't net a game winner through two overtime periods.
The Cavs doubled their counterpart's shots on goal (12) and held a 7-6 advantage in corner kicks as well.
After a slow first half that saw a combined four shots on goal, all coming from Neumann, the Blue and White turned up the pressure. Senior
Taylor Tralie opened up the scoring as she netted a goal just a minute after halftime.
Neumann responded, however with a goal coming off the foot of freshman Shannon Martina just under two minutes later. Knights junior Taylor Garman made it a 2-1 Neumann advantage just a minute after her teammate.
Cabrini kept up the pressure, forcing Neumann keeper Brittany Cullison to make save after save; the sophomore finished the game with 10. With just under five minutes in regulation, the Cavs struck pay dirt as freshman
Brianna Blair connected for a beautiful header off of a Tralie corner to even the score.
Both teams threatened in overtime, but neither was able to pick up the golden goal as they game ended in the aforementioned 2-2 draw.
The tie moves the Cavs' record to 2-1-3 overall and 0-0-2 in conference play.
The Blue and White will have a three day break before they host Cairn University on Saturday, Sept. 23. Game time is slated for 4pm.
