Radnor, PA - The Cabrini women's soccer team picked up their first CSAC victory this afternoon with a decisive 2-0 win over the Cairn Highlanders.
Cabrini dominated in all facets of the game as they tallied a season high 37 shots on the afternoon, while allowing the Highlanders just two. The Cavaliers also held a noteworthy 13-0 advantage in corners kicks.
Sophomore
Katelyn Gilinger opened up the scoring for the Cavaliers in the 10' after she corralled the rebound off of a
Taylor Tralie shot and punched in it from inside the six. Tralie was active offensively all afternoon as they senior notched 11 shots with five landing on goal.
The Blue and White kept up the offensive pressure throughout the game, but were stymied time after time thanks to senior Cairn keeper Mackenzie Paugh who recorded 11 saves.
The Cavs would break through, however in the 83' as senior
Marisa Christensen netted her second goal of the season off an assist from Tralie.
Twelve Cavaliers recorded at least one shot in today's contest, led by Tralie (11), senior
Kelsee Tironi (5) and sophomore
Payton Greene (4).
With today's victory the Cavs improve their record to 3-1-3 overall and 1-0-2 in the CSAC.
Cabrini will next square off with Cedar Crest College as they travel to Allentown for a 5pm matchup.
