Men's Soccer Plays Widener to Scoreless Draw

CHESTER, PA – The Cabrini and Widener men's soccer teams played 110 scoreless minutes of soccer today at Widener's Leslie C. Quick Jr. Stadium.

With today's result, the Cavaliers moved to 0-1-1, while the Pride improved to 1-0-1.

While both teams recorded seven shots during the 90 minutes of regulation, the Blue and White tallied three shots on goals and earned two first half corner kicks.

Both teams created chances during the two extra 10 minute periods, combining for five shots and three corner kicks.

Juniors Vince Biche and Jared Irwin and sophomore Justin Barbuto accounted for seven of Cabrini's 11 shots on the day.

The Cavaliers' defense held Widener to just eight shots, with Blue and White sophomore goaltender Mike Gould called on to make one save to earn his first career shutout.   

Widener goaltender Jordan Katz notched for saves to record his second consecutive shutout.

The Cavaliers will make their home debut on Wednesday, as they welcome DeSales (1-1) to Edith Robb Dixon Field.  Kickoff is set for 7pm.
