Women's Soccer Plays to Draw in Rain Soaked Rivalry

Radnor, PA - The Cavalier women's soccer team hosted their cross-road rival Eastern University for a rain soaked rendition of the Battle of Eagle Road Wednesday night. The Blue and White matched the Eagles all night and ultimately played to a 0-0 draw after two 10 minute overtime periods.

The Cavs outshot the Eagles on the night by a 13-12 margin, however the Blue and White landed eight of their 13 shots on goal, compared to just three for the visitors. Cabrini held the advantage in corners as well, registering seven to Eastern's three.

Sophomore Katelyn Glinger and Senior Taylor Tralie led the Cavaliers' offense as each totaled three shots, two coming on goal. Freshman Brianna Blair and Sophomore Alex Garces tallied two shots each as well.

Garces was responsible for the Cavaliers' first shot on goal coming just three minutes into the action. The Blue and White picked up four more shots on goal in the first half, but were stymied each time.

Cabrini ratcheted up the pressure after the intermission to the tune of four shots in the first 15 minutes, three by Tralie.

In the 71st minute, Glinger was presented with the Cavs best chance to score when she received a pass from Tralie on the left side of the box, but her shot would sail just enough to hit the crossbar.

The Eagles responded with a strong attack of their own just a minute before the end of regulation when sophomore Amy Radcliffe launched a ball from inside the box only to have to it denied by the crossbar.

The two overtime periods featured just four total shots, three from the visitors and one from the Blue and White with no squad able to capitalize, resulting in the aforementioned 0-0 draw.

The Cavaliers will next face New Jersey City University this Friday at Edith Robb Dixon Field. Game time is slated for 7pm.
