COLLEGEVILLE, PA – Just days after returning from their annual training trip to south Florida, the Cabrini swim teams returned to competition, as the Cavaliers paid a visit to Ursinus College.
The Blue and White men fell 126-73, while the women suffered a 127-69 loss to the No. 16 Bears.
Sophomore
Matt Schaeffer paced the Cabrini men, scoring a victory in the 200-yard individual medley, reaching the wall in 2:02.38. Senior
Ryan Hagan's time of 23.68 was good for a second place finish in the 50-yard freestyle.
The Cavaliers also scored a quartet of third place finishes, with freshman
Cameron Mousley earning a pair in the 200-yard and 500-yard freestyles. Junior
Ryan Brong earned a podium finish in the 100-yard butterfly, while freshman
Kurt Schuehler placed third in the 100-yard backstroke.
The team of Schuehler, Schaeffer, freshman
Luke McDevitt and Hagan also combined for a time of 1:45.97 in the 200-yard medley relay.
Senior
Brooke Hagan and freshman
Amber Garrison led the women's team, as each earned fourth place finishes.
Hagan earned fourth place finishes in the 200-yard freestyle and the 100-yard butterfly. Garrison's times were good for fourth place in the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyles.
Sophomore
Katherine Buckman also joined freshmen
Kelly Schuehler,
Meghan Reguera and
Tori DeLusant for a fourth place finish in the 200-yard medley relay.
The Blue and White will look to regroup quickly, as it will head to Widener University at 1pm on Sunday.
