CHESTER, PA – The Cabrini swim teams closed a busy weekend, as they made the short trip to Chester, PA to face Widener.
Both teams suffered defeats, as the women fell 170-31 and the men 159-44.
Sophomore
Matt Schaeffer paced the Blue and White, scoring the team's lone event victory. The sophomore's time of 4:26.34 was good for a win in the 400-yard individual medley.
Junior
Ryan Brong added a second place finish in the 200-yard butterfly, reaching the wall in 2:09.64, while freshman
Cameron Mousley posted a time of 51.32 seconds in the 100-yard freestyle, placing second.
The Cabrini men also recorded a pair of second place finishes in the meet's two relays. The quartet of freshman
Kurt Schuehler, Schaefer, sophomore
Alex Maiorana and senior
Ryan Hagan placed second in the 200-yard medley relay.
Schaeffer and Mousley joined freshmen
Jacob Montenegro and
Luke McDevitt for a second place finsh in the day's final event, the 400-yard freestyle relay.
Freshman
Tori DeLusant recorded a pair of second place finishes to lead the Cabrini women. The rookie's times of 2:09.79 and 2:50.40 were good second place finishes in the 200-yard freestyle and 200-yard breaststroke, respectively.
Sophomore
Katherine Buckman also earned a second place finish, posting a time of 2:26.15 in the 200-yard backstroke.
Fellow sophomore
Lauren Finnegan added a pair of third place finishes in the 50-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle, while senior
Brooke Hagan placed third in the 400-yard individual medley.
The Blue and White will return to training before returning to action on January 27, when the Cavaliers host Alfred State College. The meet will mark the team's home finale and Senior Day ceremony. The action will get underway at 12 noon in the Dixon Center Pool.
