RADNOR, PA - The Cabrini men's tennis team wrapped up their fall season on Friday with an decisive 8-1 victory over visiting Penn State University Berks.
Cabrini started fast as
CJ LaMantia and
Matthew DeMaria cruised to a comfortable 8-1 final in No. 2 doubles, while junior
Nick Tilley and freshman
James Humes followed suit with an 8-2 decision. Sophomore's
Ben Mead and
Nick Falcone gave the Cavs the doubles sweep with a 8-5 decision in the No. 1 flight.
The Blue and White got things started in singles play with a trio of convincing wins in No. 5, No. 4 and No. 3 singles, respectively. In the No. 5 flight, Mead cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Berks' Louay Qubain, while Humes used a 6-0, 6-0 decision over his PSU opponents in the No. 4 flight.
Tilley topped his opponent with a 6-1, 6-3 decision in the No. 3 flight, while DeMaria's 6-2, 6-3 final in No. 6 singles gave the Blue and White a 4-0 lead. Facing the threat of darkness, Falcone and LaMantia each played pro sets, were Falcone won 8-4, but LaMantia fell by an 8-5 decision.
Following Friday's victory, the Cavaliers completed their Fall season with a perfect 3-0 record.
