RADNOR, PA – The Cabrini swim teams opened their 2018-19 season with a bang tonight, as the Cavaliers scored a pair of wins over Immaculata at the Dixon Center Pool.
The men won 109-14, while the women cruised to a 114-31 victory.
The Cavaliers dominated the action from the first event, reaching the wall first in 21 of the night's 22 events.
Several Cavaliers topped the podium with their performances in tonight's season-opener.
Freshmen
Marisa Linsky and
Sarah Gudas made the most of their collegiate debuts, scoring a pair of individual wins.
Linsky reached the wall first in the 1,000-yard freestyle (12:13.13) and 100-yard backstroke (1:07.26), while Gudas was victorious in the 50-yard freestyle (25.96) and 100-yard freestyle (58.7).
Sophomore
Tori DeLusant won the 200-yard individual medley (2:24.22) and joined Gudas, sophomore
Tara McCloskey and junior
Katherine Buckman in winning the season's first event, the 200-yard medley relay (2:01.26).
The men were just as impressive, with freshmen
Mac Granto leading the way with a pair of individual wins. The rookie posted wining times in the 200-yard freestyle (1:53.92) and 100-yard freestyle (51.07).

Marc Consiglio, sophomore
Luke McDevitt and junior
Matt Schaeffer in a victorious 200-yard medley relay (1:44.14).
McDevitt added a win in the 100-yard backstroke (59.05), while Consiglio claimed the 50-yard freestyle (23.15). Schaeffer scored a victory in the 100-yard butterfly (57.78).
Tonight's action not only marked the first meet in the young history of the Atlantic East Conference, it also marked Immaculata's program debut.
The Cavaliers will return to action on Saturday, when they travel to King's College. The action will get underway at 1pm in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
