ANNVILLE, PA – The Cabrini swim teams put on an impressive performance tonight, as the Cavaliers scored a pair of victories at Lebanon Valley College.
The teams combined for 16 wins in the meet's 21 events. The women scored a 110-95, while the men posted a 126-45 victory.
The Blue and White men won nine events, swept the top three places in two and claimed first and second places in five others.
The Cavaliers got off to a great start, as the quartet of sophomore Kurt Schuehler, freshman Marc Consiglio, junior Matt Schaeffer and sophomore Cameron Mousley won the 200-yard medley relay (1:59.84).
Mousley also scored a pair of individual event wins, reaching the wall first in the 200-yard freestyle (2:04.44) and 400-yard freestyle (4:28.47). Freshman Mac Granto matched the sophomore's triumphs, recording the night's fastest times in the 200-yard individual medley (2:30.14) and 100-yard freestyle (57.75).
Schaeffer added a win in the 50-yard freestyle (25.86), while senior Ryan Brong, Schuehler and classmate Sean Devlin captured the 100-yard butterfly (1:09.31), 100-yard backstroke (1:08.08) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:19.30), respectively.
Junior Lauren Finnegan and freshman Sarah Gudas led the women's team with a pair of individual event wins. Finnegan scored victories in the 200-yard freestyle (2:19.92) and 400-yard freestyle (4:51.82), while the rookie reached the wall first in the 50-yard freestyle (29.53) and 100-yard freestyle (1:05.19).
Sophomore Tara McCloskey and freshman Marisa Linsky also topped the podium with wins in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:20.25) and the 800-yard freestyle (10:32.73), respectively.
The Cavaliers also ended the night on a high note, as Gudas, sophomore Tori DeLusant, junior Katherine Buckman and Finnegan claimed victory in the night's final event, the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:58.86).
The Blue and White will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 10, when they travel to Reading, PA to face Albright College. The action will get underway at 1pm.
