RADNOR, PA – The Cabrini men's basketball team evened its record at 2-2 tonight, as the Cavaliers scored a thrilling 85-84 victory over the Rosemont College Ravens.

Rosemont looked to make a long pass on their next possession, but the ball sailed out of bounds. A Cabrini missed free throw with 1.1 seconds to play gave Rosemont one final chance, but the final shot came after the buzzer.
Mack provided a monster game for the Cavaliers pairing 31 points and 17 rebounds, while shooting 14-17 from the field. Wright-Downing added 19 points, seven boards, four steals and four assists on 8-12 shooting.
Smith connected on 4-8 from three point range, en route to 16 points, while classmate
Trey Smith notched 12 points and six assists.
The Cavaliers raced to an early 10 points cushion less than six minutes into the opening half, but an 11-0 spurt by the Ravens gave them control of the scoreboard and the momentum.

Despite shooting north of 48% from the field in the first half, the Cavaliers trailed 44-37 at the break, as 15 first half turnovers led to 13 Rosemont points.
Cabrini turned up the defensive pressure to begin the second half, as it forced four early turnovers during a 15-2 run that gave the club a 52-46 lead.
While both teams battled back and forth, Rosemont slowly regained the lead. Over a six minute stretch, the Ravens went on a 13-3 run to build a 70-64 lead with six minutes to play.
The Cavaliers battled back, regaining the lead at 74-73 as
Trey Smith hit Mack for a lay-up at the 3:40 mark. The lead was short lived, as the Ravens responded with five quick points, rebuilding their four point cushion with 2:28 to play.
Another Mack bucket, a defensive stop and a Wright-Downing steal and dunk evened the score at 78. Four Rosemont free throws sandwiched around a Ravens' defensive stop put the visitors ahead 82-78 with just 35 seconds to play.
Robinson stopped the Rosemont spurt with a jumper, but Gemmell's free throws put the Ravens ahead 84-80 with 21 seconds on the clock.
The Cavaliers used a strong second half defensive effort to climb back into the game. Cabrini held the Ravens to just 10-30 shooting in the second half, including 2-11 from three point range, and forced nine turnovers.
Senior Basil Thompson led Rosemont (1-4) with 23 points and nine boards, while classmate Jacob Simonson added 20 points.
The Cavaliers will hit the road for their next five contests, beginning with a trip to the University of Scranton (4-0) on Nov. 28. Tip is slated for 8pm.
