Women's Basketball Captures 70-41 Victory Behind Hackendorn's Double-Double

Immaculata, PA - The Cabrini women's basketball team reeled off another win this evening making it an even 20 in a row, as they took down the Immaculata Mighty Macs by a 70-41 final.

Junior Sabrina Hackendorn picked up her fifth double-double of the year as she paired 16 points and 11 rebounds, seven of which came on the offensive glass, in just 22 minutes of action. Classmate Nomi Washington also tallied 16 points as she added four boards, four assists and six steals as well. Freshman Kate Lannon capped the Cavs in double figures as she finished with 10 points in 19 minutes off the bench.

The Blue and White jumped out to an early 14-3 lead after a quarter thanks to stifling defense as they held the host Mighty Macs to 0-for-15 from the field. Immaculata's lone three points all came from the charity stripe courtesy of freshman Theresa Kearney.

Kearney eventually ended the Mighty Mac's drought as she drained a three early in the second quarter. After swapping baskets, Lannon would respond with a three of her own to put the Blue and White up by 12 with 2:56 left until the half. A layup from junior Gaby Jones followed by a free throw from sophomore Cassidy Gallagher gave the Cavs a 14 point lead heading into the intermission.

Cabrini extended their lead to 20 points heading into the fourth quarter thanks to an 18 point effort in the third. A 12-to-2 run to open the fourth quarter ended any hopes of a comeback from Immaculata as the Cavs ballooned their lead to 32, holding a 67-35 advantage with just 2:31 remaining. The Blue and White rode out the final two minutes en route to their 22nd win of the season.

As mentioned, Cabrini improves to 22-2 overall and 15-0 in conference play after tonight's victory. They will cap their regular season with a trip to Clarks Summit as they aim to finish with a perfect conference record for the first time since the 2014-15 season. Game time is slated for 1pm.
