LANCASTER, PA – The Cabrini swim teams closed their regular seasons today, as they joined Dickinson College and SUNY New Paltz at the Franklin & Marshall College February Quad.
The Blue and White women fell to the host Diplomats 217-38 and suffered 209-42 and 199-50 losses to Dickinson and New Paltz, respectively.
The Cabrini men also suffered similar results. The Cavaliers lost to F&M 193-46, while falling to Dickinson and New Paltz 196-48 and 177.5-56.5, respectively.
Freshman
Cameron Mousley continues to be a bright spot for Cabrini, as the rookie claimed victory in the 500-yard freestyle, reaching the wall in 4:52.50.
Sophomore
Matt Schaeffer also scored a fifth place finish in the 100-yard butterfly, posting a time of 55.93.
Freshman
Jacob Montenegro added a pair of top 10 finishes, placing eighth in the 100-yard breast stroke (1:16.12) and ninth in the 200-yard backstroke (2:23.06).
Sophomore
Lauren Finnegan paced the women with a pair of top seven finishes, scoring times of 2:24.75 in the 200-yard individual medley and 58.89 in the 100-yard freestyle to place sixth and seventh, respectively.
Freshman
Tori DeLusant added a pair of top 10 finishes as well, finishing ninth in the 200-yard backstroke (2:24.98) and 10th in the 100-yard breast stroke (1:18.99).
Senior
Brooke Hagan placed 11th in the 200-yard freestyle (2:17.54) and ninth in the 500-yard freestyle (6:08.11), while sophomore
Katherine Buckman claimed 10th and 12th place finishes in the 100-yard backstroke (1:10.53) and 100-yard butterfly (1:09.94).
The Cavaliers will return to training for the next 10 days, as they prepare for the 2018 AMCC Championships. The four-day event will begin on Wednesday, Feb. 14 at 6pm in Erie, PA.
