ELVERSON, PA – The Cabrini men's and women's golf teams teed off at the Ursinus College Spring Invitational today at Stonewall Golf Club in Elverson, PA. The Blue and White men placed fifth out of 15 teams, while the women did not record a team score.
The Cavaliers posted a team score of 325 on the par 70, 6,312 yard North Course.
Senior
Nick Straub paced Cabrini with a six over par, 76, tying for fifth place in the 80 golfer field. Junior
David Gall also earned a top 15 finish, as his 79 was good for a 14th place tie.
Junior
Nick Alizzi's 84 earned a 36th place finish, while senior
David Anders tied for 50th after today's round of 86.
The Cavaliers women finished 25th, 26th and 27th on the par 70, 5,886 yard circuit.
Sophomore
Caitlin Bullock's 117 was good for 25th place in the field of 30 golfers.
Freshman
Ashley Moore finished three strokes behind Bullock, while classmate
Abi Fricke's 123 secured a tie for 27th place.
Penn State Berks won the men's team title with a team score of 310, four strokes better than Alvernia. Gettysburg's Danny Harcourt took the men's individual crown by tiebreaker after he and Penn State Berks' Matt Kreider posted matching 74's.
Alvernia captured the women's team championship after recording a team score of 367, three strokes better than Muhlenberg and Ursinus. Muhlenberg's Aine Filler posted the women's low score of 82 to secure a one stroke win over Ursinus' Rebecca Chiger.
The Blue and White men will return to the links on Saturday, as it competes in the two-day Rosemont College Invitational. Saturday's tee time is slated for 11:30am at Honeybrook Golf Club.
The Cabrini women will tee off on Sunday, as it competes against Keystone College and Misericordia University at Irem Temple Country club. Tee time is scheduled for 12:30pm in Dallas, PA.
