Women's Lacrosse Extends CSAC Streak with 16-5 Win over Notre Dame of MD

RADNOR, PA – The Cabrini women's lacrosse team pushed its Colonial States Athletic Conference win streak to 55 games with today's 16-5 victory over Notre Dame of Maryland University.

The victory improved the Cavaliers to 5-0 in the league and 7-5 overall.

The Blue and White grabbed control of the action in the opening minute, as juniors Avery Murphy and Liz Hoeffner combined for three goals in the game's first 69 seconds.

Hoeffner recorded five goals in the opening 7:09, as the Blue and White built an 8-0 lead before the Gators got on the board.

Cabrini established a 14-3 lead at the half after outshooting Notre Dame 24-4 in the opening 30 minutes.

Hoeffner finished the day with her second consecutive eight point performance, recording six goals and two assists. Sophomore Lauren Hughes matched career highs with five points and four assists.

The quartet of Murphy, fellow junior Emma Rodner-Tims and freshmen Ashley Tutzauer and Kathleen Emche also scored two goals each.

The Blue and White defensive effort never allowed the Gators to get on track, forcing 21 of Notre Dame's 32 turnovers. Freshman Taylor Dimmerling led the way with five caused turnovers to go with four ground balls, while senior Jackie Neary paired four caused turnovers and five ground balls.

Senior Gabby Lee earned game-high honors with six ground balls, while classmate Sara Johnsen secured three.

Junior goaltender Devon Scharf saw just under 30 minutes of action and was called on for the Cavaliers' only save to earn the win.

Junior Megan Morales led the Gators (3-7, 1-4 CSAC) with four goals and five draw controls, while classmate Kirsten McGee paired three assists and three ground balls. Freshman Marie Salas recorded six saves in the loss.
