LAFAYETTE HILL, PA – The Cabrini men's golf team closed its regular season on Tuesday, as it battled a deep field of Div. II and III teams and cold and windy weather conditions to earn a sixth place finish at the Jefferson University Invitational at The ACE Club.
The Cavaliers posted a team score of 334 on the 7,471 yard, par 72 circuit. The Blue and White finished 17 strokes behind team champion Felician, while Swarthmore (322), Neumann (328), Goldey-Beacom (328) and Goucher (331) completed the top five spots.
Junior
David Gall led the Cavaliers, as his round of four over par, 76, was good for a third place tie in the 58 player field.
Senior
Nick Straub also recorded a top 20 finish, tying for 18th place after shooting an 83. One stroke better than classmate
David Anders, who tied for 24th. Junior
Nick Alizzi's 91 was good for a 48th place finish.
Felician's Jake Storako won the individual crown, after firing an even, par 72, three stroke better than Swarthmore's Ankur Malik. Shane Nocito from Penn State Abington joined Gall in third place, while Goldey-Beacom's Andre Primeau shot 75 to finish fifth.
The Cavaliers have some time off before closing the season at the CSAC Championships on April 27-28. The two-day championship meet will take place at Moselem Springs Golf Club in Fleetwood, PA.
