FLEETWOOD, PA – The Cabrini golf team finished third at the rain-shortened 20187 Colonial States Athletic Conference championships.
The Cavaliers posted a team score of 498 over the 27 hole championship at Moselem Spring Golf Club.
Originally scheduled for two rounds and 36 holes, severe weather forced the conference to shorten today's second round to nine holes.
Junior
David Gall paced the Blue and White, pairing yesterday's 81 with today's nine hole score of 39. With his two-day total of 120, Gall tied for seventh in the 37 golfer field.
Senior
Nick Straub joined Gall in the top 10, as the senior posted a two-day score of 121 was good for ninth place.
Junior
Nick Alizzi recorded a nine-hole score of 44 today, securing a 14th place finish when added to yesterday's round of 82. Senior
David Anders tied for 18th place after scoring rounds of 91 and 40, while freshman
Mike McCuen' two-day score of 158 was good for 29th.
By virtue of their championship finishes, Gall and Straub were also named to the All-CSAC Second Team, while Straub was named to the CSAC Sportsmanship Team.
Rosemont claimed the CSAC Championship and the accompanying automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament after posting a team score of 459, 17 strokes better than Marywood. Neumann (515) and Cairn (518) completed the top five on the team board.
Marywood's Michael Thomas' nine hole score of 34 was enough to earn the tiebreaker over Rosemont's Jordan Cook to win the title of individual champion after both posted matching 112 scores. Rosemont's Hunter Mickacavage (115), Erik Diamond (115) and Michael Lange (117) rounded out the individual top five.
