LA PLUME, PA – The Cabrini softball team evened its overall record at 8-8 with two victories at Keystone College today.
With the 7-4 and 11-6 wins, the Cavaliers also improved to 4-2 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference.
The Blue and White built an early lead in the opener, as freshman
Aysiah Cintron's single scored sophomore
Alexandra Schell in the top of the second.
Cabrini added to its lead in the top of the fourth, plating three runs. Senior
Sarah Beckner reached on an infield error to open the frame before advancing to third on a pair of sacrifice bunts and eventually scoring on a second infield error.
The Cavaliers' two out rally continued, as they loaded the bases. Senior

Darian Caputo to put the Blue and White ahead 4-0.
The Giants cut into the Cabrini lead in the bottom half of the inning, as Shannon Lloyd clubbed a two-run homer over the right center field fence.
Cabrini held its 4-2 lead until the top of the seventh, when it added a trio of insurance runs. The Cavaliers loaded the bases before scoring all three runs with two outs.

Keystone tried to make a late comeback, as it took advantage of a pair of Cabrini errors to score two runs before Giordano shut the door.
Cintron, Ferraro and Ramos posted two base knocks each, while Cintron joined Giordano and Hall with two RBI. Giordano also earned the victory in the pitcher's circle, allowing just two earned runs on five hits.
The Cavaliers continued their offensive efficiency into the early innings of the nightcap.
The Blue and White wasted little time, as the first three batters in the line-up reached to load the bases. Junior
Marissa Alpaugh's single scored Caputo before Giordano drove home Ferraro with a single to center field. Schell's single scored Alpaugh to give Cabrini a 3-0 lead after the first inning.
The lead grew in the second, as Cabrini plated four more runs on six hits. Ramos plated a pair of runs, as her single down the right field line scored Alpaugh and Ferraro. Giordano crossed the plate on a Schell single to right before Ramos scored on a single by freshman
Amber Seamen.
The Blue and White held its 7-0 lead until the bottom of the third, when Keystone scored four runs, including Lloyd's second two-run homer of the day.
Cabrini got two of those runs back in the fourth, as Ramos scored on a wild pitch before Schell scored on a sacrifice fly off the bat of freshman
Olivia Young. The Cavaliers regained their seven run cushion in the fifth, as Giordano and Ramos drove in runs.
The Giants again looked to rally late, loading the bases with two outs. Keystone managed to send two runners across the plate before freshman
Casey Scheuren closed the action with her third strikeout of the game.
Scheuren earned the victory after allowing six earned runs on 11 hits. Caputo and Giordano matched season-highs with three hits each, while Ramos matched a career high with three RBI.
The Cavaliers will return to action on Saturday, when they host Clarks Summit University (1-9, 0-0 CSAC) at Cabrini Field. First pitch for the Blue and White's home opener is slated for 12 noon.
