RADNOR, PA – Cabrini and Eastern battled up and down the Edith Robb Dixon Field pitch for 90 minutes in tonight's renewal of the Battle for Eagle Road, but 37th minute Eagles' goal proved to be the difference, as the Cavaliers suffered a 1-0 loss.
Tonight's defeat dropped the Blue and White to 2-5-1 on the season.
The Eagles scored the day's lone tally in the 37th minute, as sophomore Zach Harley collected a rebound and beat Cabrini's sophomore netminder
Anthony Zampirri.
Despite a 7-2 advantage in first half shots, the Eastern managed just a 1-0 lead at the half.
Eastern pressed for a second goal early in the second half, as it recorded all five of its corner kicks in a six minute span early in the stanza.
While the Cavaliers notched four of its six shots in the second 45 minute period, only one forced a save by Eastern sophomore goaltender Anthony Hitchcock, an 89th minute attempt from freshman
Ben Cahill.
Cabrini recorded just six shots on the day to 12 for the Eagles, as freshman
Nick Booth fired two attempts at the Eastern net. Zampirri notched five saves in the loss.
Freshman Bryce Wahinya notched a team-high three shots for Eastern (5-2), while Hitchcock was only needed for one save.
The Cavaliers will hit the road on Wednesday, as they visit Delaware Valley University. Kickoff is slated for 7pm in Doylestown, PA.
