GRANTHAM, PA – The Cavaliers moved into the win column today, as the Cabrini volleyball team split a pair of matches at Messiah College.
The Blue and White dropped a tough five setter to the host Falcons (19-25, 25-22, 25-17, 25-21, 15-7) before rolling to a 3-0 win over Houghton College (25-13, 25-17, 25-23).
Sophomore
Steph Judkins led the Cavaliers in the opener with a monster double-double, pairing a career best 28 kills and 15 digs. Freshman
Amelia Ballard added her first career double-double, tallying 17 assists, 13 digs and a pair of service aces.
Senior
Ashley Shannon anchored the defense with a match-high 31 digs. Junior
Katrina Shelly chipped in with 10 kills, while freshman
Hannah Dalton totaled four blocks.
Judkins added her second double-double of the day in the nights cap, posting 11 kills and 12 digs. Ballard just fell short of the mark, notching 19 assists and eight digs.
Senior
Emily Shannon stuffed the stat sheet with a team-high 16 digs, six kills, three assists, and three service aces. Dalton and Shelley added five kills each, while
Ashley Shannon recorded nine digs.
The Cavaliers will make their Nerney Field House debut on Tuesday, as they play host to Haverford College (1-5). First serve is scheduled for 7pm.
