Wright-Downing, Robinson Lead Cavaliers to 95-80 Win at Neumann

ASTON, PA – The Cabrini men's basketball team continued its winning ways today, as the Cavaliers scored a 95-80 victory at Neumann University.

The Blue and White's third consecutive victory improved the team to 5-13 overall and 3-2 in the Atlantic East Conference.

Today's game marked the third consecutive game in which Cabrini has reached the 95 point plateau, while its .569 field goal percentage, 13 made three pointers and seven blocked shots tied or established season highs.

Seniors Anthony Wright-Downing and Ivan Robinson provided the offensive spark for the Cavaliers, combining to shoot 20-27 from the floor, including 8-11 from three point range.

Wright-Downing scored a season high 30 points, while Robinson marked a season high with 21 points.

The Cavaliers blew open a tight game in the latter stages of the first half. Leading 20-18 at the 10:36 mark, Cabrini embarked on a 19-3 spurt, including 13 consecutive points, to establish a 39-21 lead after senior Alsmith Saintilus' three pointer with 3:09 left in the first half. 

Robinson found Wright-Downing for the Blue and White's seventh first half three pointer in the final seconds of the opening stanza, as Cabrini carried a 50-31 lead into the break.

The Cavaliers showed no let-up after the break, shooting north of .530 from the floor after the break, while extending their lead to a game high 24 points in the game's final minutes.

Defensively, Cabrini held the Knights to just .379 shooting, including 3-9 from three point range. The Blue and White also forced 17 Neumann turnovers and converted them into 15 points.

Senior DeVahnte Mosley added nine points in the win, while sophomore Trey Smith scored eight.

Junior Waheem Lowman led the Knights (9-9, 0-5 Atlantic East) with 19 points, while classmate Sanoussi Abdourhaman paired 12 points and 12 boards.

The Cavaliers will try to extend their current win streak on Wednesday, when they face Marymount University (8-10, 1-4 Atlantic East). The action will get underway at 8pm inside Nerney Field House.
