GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA – The Cabrini men's soccer team pushed its current win streak to four matches, as the Cavaliers scored an important 3-0 victory at Gwynedd Mercy.
With the victory, the Blue and White improved to 8-7-1 overall and 4-1 in the Atlantic East Conference. With just one regular season match remaining, the Cavaliers are tied atop the league's standings.
Wednesday's regular season finale against Marymount (9-8, 4-1 Atlantic East) could determine the number one seed home field advantage in the upcoming conference tournament.
The Blue and White jumped on the board in the 26th minute, when freshman
Matt Duddy found junior
Josh Cunningham for the junior's second goal of the campaign.
The Cavaliers held their slim lead until the 76th minute, when Duddy entered his name into the scorebook. Sophomore
Dakota Bauer's corner kick service found the rookie for his fifth tally of the season.
Cabrini added an insurance goal in the 87th minute, as senior
Andre Justin collected his eighth goal of the season from the penalty spot.
Seven Cavaliers accounted for the team's 12 shots in the win, with sophomore
Nick Booth joining Cunningham and Justin with two each.
Senior goaltender
Mike Gould was called on for just one save as he improved to 4-0 on the season.
Evan Kirby led the Griffins (5-13-1, 1-5 Atlantic east) with two shots, while goaltender Tyler Blair posted three saves.
Game time for Wednesday's showdown at Marymount is slated for 4pm at Edith Robb Dixon Field
