ASTON, PA - The Cabrini women's soccer team used four second half goals to pick up a 4-0 victory in their Atlantic East Conference (AEC) opener on Wednesday night against Neumann University.
The Blue and White had their way on offense as they tallied a 14-4 advantage in shots, including a 9-2 advantage in shots on goal, while also finishing with a 5-2 advantage in corners.

Katelyn Gilinger and
Diana VanSickle paced the attack as each finished with four points. VanSickle netted a pair of goals on three shots, while Gilinger added a goal and two assists on two shots. Junior
Maria Hagan rounded out the Cavs to mark the scoring column with a goal in the 53rd minute.
After a tightly contested first half in which the Cavs held just a 4-1 advantage in shots, while still being knotted at zero on the scoreboard, VanSickle opened the scoring for the Blue and White with a strike in the 51st minute. Just over two minutes later, Hagan doubled Cabrini's lead following a foul on Neumann's Emily Cooper in box. The Philadelphia native delivered with a PK goal for the 2-0 lead.
Gilinger made it a 3-0 Cavalier advantage two minutes later with an unassisted strike in the 55th minute for her fifth goal of the season.
Cabrini would cap their scoring in the 63rd minute after VanSickle netted her second goal of the day with, courtesy of another assist from Gilinger.
Cabrini's defense would hold the Knights without a shot the rest of the way en route to the 4-0 final.
Junior netminder
Ashley Tutzauer anchored the Cavalier defense with a pair of saves, while the defensive unit pitched their second consecutive shutout and fifth overall.
Following tonight's action, Cabrini improves to 9-2-1 overall and 1-0 in AEC play. They will next face Immaculata University in their annual Breast Cancer Awareness game on Saturday, October 12th at Edith Robb Dixon Field. Game time is slated for 12pm.
