RADNOR, PA – The Cavaliers played No. 17 William Smith evenly through much of the game, but a five minutes stretch late in the game proved to be the difference, as Cabrini suffered a 15-9 loss.
Trailing 9-8 midway through the second half of a game that had been a one goal contest for more than 37 minutes, Cabrini suffered a costly failed clear and turnover that sparked the Herons on a run of four consecutive goals over the next five minutes, building their lead to an insurmountable 13-8 with seven minutes to play.
Senior
Avery Murphy led the Cavaliers led the Cavaliers with five points on three goals and two assists to go with 10 draw controls, three ground balls and two caused turnovers.

Shea Neary added two goals and controlled two draws each. Senior

Taylor Dimmerling with four ground balls, while a quintet of Cavaliers accounted for the club's 10 caused turnovers.

After falling behind 2-0, the Blue and White rallied for three unanswered goals over the next 2:36, with sophomore
Ashley Tutzauer, Carlson and Dimmerling marking the scoring column.
The teams alternated goals over the final 16 minutes of the opening period before a late Herons goal evened the score at 7-7 at the half.
William Smith regained a slim lead on a woman-down goal six minutes into the second stanza before Murphy's woman-up goal tied the score at 8-8 with 22:10 to play.
After outshooting the Herons 17-14 before the break, the Cavaliers mustered just seven second half shots, including an 18 minute stretch during which Cabrini did not record a shot. The Blue and White also committed 17 of its 26 turnovers in the second half and saw William Smith scooped 15 ground balls to just eight for Cabrini.
Mekayla Montgomery made an impact on both ends for the Herons (4-2), as the sophomore paired two goals, three assists, five draw controls, six ground balls and six caused turnovers. Sophomore Ellie Burns added three goals, while classmate Jules Kennedy snagged nine saves.
The Cavaliers (3-4) will look to rebound on Thursday as they open Atlantic East Conference play with a visit from Gwynedd Mercy University (3-5). Game time is slated for 3:30pm at Edith Robb Dixon Field.
