RADNOR, PA – The Cabrini women's lacrosse team opened Atlantic East play in an impressive fashion today, as the Cavaliers rolled to a 21-9 victory over Gwynedd Mercy at Edith Robb Dixon Field.
The Blue and White evened its record at 4-4 with the win and extended its conference win streak to 58 victories.
Eight Cavaliers marked the scoring column in today's victory. Sophomores
Ashley Tutzauer and
Taylor Dimmerling joined freshman
Dana Carlson with seven points each.
Tutzauer notched a career high seven goals to go with three caused turnovers and four ground balls, while Dimmerling paired three foals, four assists and three caused turnovers.
Carlson scored four goals, added three helpers and controlled three draws. Fellow freshman
Shea Neary stuffed the stat sheet with a goal, an assist, three draw controls, two caused turnovers and two ground balls.
Freshmen
Lindsey Pozaic and
Kelly Sweeney scored their first two career goals, while senior
Emma Rodner-Tims paired a goal and an assist.
Senior
Avery Murphy controlled a career high 15 draw, caused a pair of turnovers and scooped three ground balls, while junior
Lauren Hughes added two caused turnovers and three ground balls to her goal.

Sam Hamalak notched three saves, while senior
Devon Scharf and junior
Noelia Ramirez added one save each in relief.
The Blue and White wasted little time grabbing an early lead, as Murphy found Tutzauer for the day's first goal just 16 seconds after the opening whistle. Minutes later, Carlson's first goal doubled the Cabrini advantage.
Griffins junior Victoria Mollitor responded with three consecutive goals over the next 2:01 to gain a 3-2 lead. The lead was short lived as Cabrini had a run of its own.
The Cavalier rebuilt their lead with four unanswered goals in the next 2:11. GMercyU briefly interrupted Cabrini's scoring run, but the Blue and White never relinquished the momentum, scoring 11 of the next 12 goals to establish a 17-5 lead at the half.
Cabrini outshot the Griffins 34-8 in the first half and controlled 16 of the 23 draws. Defensively, the Blue and White pressured GMercyU into 23 turnovers and held it to just 12-25 in clear attempts.
Mollitor finished the game with four goals, five draw controls and three ground balls, while sophomore Victoria Braeunle added a hat trick. Freshman goaltender Julia Smith notched six saves in the loss.
The Cavaliers will step out of conference play on Saturday, as they pay a visit to Arcadia University (0-6). The opening draw is slated for 1pm in Glenside, PA.
