RADNOR, PA – It took sophomore
Aysiah Cintron's first career home run and a stellar pitching performance by classmate
Casey Scheuren, but the Cabrini softball team snapped its losing streak after splitting a pair of games against York College today at Cabrini Field.
The Cavaliers surrendered five York home runs in the opener, en route to a 10-2 loss before rallying for a 3-2 win in the night cap.
Game 1

Grace Stairiker could not quiet York's power hitters, as the Spartans blasted five home runs in the win.
The first two came in the top of the first inning with another in the second. Sophomore
Amber Seamen put the Cavaliers on the board in the bottom of the second wither first home run of the campaign.
York responded with two more round-trippers in the third, extending its lead to 7-1. Cabrini got one of the runs back in the bottom of the frame, as sophomore
Olivia Young scored on a sacrifice bunt by freshman
Faith Pitsikoulis.
The Cavaliers would get no closer, as the Spartans added three runs in the fourth.
Young finished the opener with two hits, while Stairiker evened her record at 5-5, after allowing six earned runs on 10 hits.
Game 2
Cintron's first career home run came in a big spot for the Blue and White as the two out, two run homer snapped a 1-1 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning. The blast gave the Cavaliers a 3-1 lead with three innings to play.
Scheuren made the lead stand, as the sophomore allowed just two more hits over the nine outs.
York built an early lead on a two out RBI single in the top of the second.
Cabrini immediately responded in the bottom of the frame, as Young's RBI single to center scored freshman
Allison Martin, who opened the inning with a leadoff double.
The Cavaliers recorded just five hits in the game, but were aided by four York errors.
Scheuren improved to 4-5 on the season after scattering seven hits and allowing two earned runs with three strikeouts.
Cabrini (9-10) will hit the road on Tuesday, as it visits Swarthmore College (8-5). The nonconference doubleheader is scheduled for a 3pm start.
