HAVERFORD, PA – The Cavaliers erased an early 6-0 deficit and pushed their upset bid to the final minutes before suffering a 21-19 loss at No. 21 Haverford.
The loss evened the Blue and White's record at 2-2, while the Fords improved to 4-1.
Senior
Avery Murphy led the Cavaliers with 10 points on seven goals and three helpers, each narrowly missing career highs. The senior also matched a career best with 12 draw controls to go with three ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Freshman
Dana Carlson and junior
Ashley Tutzauer added five points each, combining for six goals, four assists and six ground balls. Carlson also earned game-high honors with 13 draw controls.
Sophomore
Taylor Dimmerling paired three goals and three ground balls, while freshman
Shea Neary stuffed the stat sheet with two goals, three ground balls, two caused turnovers and seven draw controls.

Sam Hamalak recorded six saves in the loss.
The Fords jumped ahead early, taking advantage of three early Cabrini yellow cards to build a 6-0 lead nine minutes into the game. Murphy stopped the Haverford run with a pair of goals.
Another Haverford goal put Cabrini in a 7-2 hole, but the Cavaliers were poised for a comeback. Over a span of 5:52, the Cavaliers rattled off six unanswered goals to build an 8-7 lead, including two goals each by Murphy and Carlson.
The Fords responded late in the first half, scoring four of the last five goals of the stanza, carrying an 11-9 lead into the halftime break.
Haverford looked to put Cabrini away in the opening minutes of the second half, scoring three early goals to build a 14-9 lead with 26:25 to play. Again, the Cavaliers did not wilt.
Cabrini slowly chipped away at its deficit, pulling within 16-14 on Neary's goal at the 14-26 mark. The teams alternated goals over the next six minutes before back to back woman-up goals push the Haverford lead back to 20-16 with 6:52 to play.
The Cavaliers answered with goals by freshman
Morgan Fazzini and Murphy, slicing the deficit in half, but the Blue and White would get no closer.
The Blue and White outshot Haverford 57-37, including 44-27 in shots on goal and won 32 of the game's 42 draw controls.
Julia Pascarella led the Fords with 10 points on four goals and six assists, while Allie Gibbons and Rina Rosnow combined for 11 goals. The key to Haverford's win may have been goaltender Amelia Shade, who posted 25 saves in the victory.
The Cavaliers will its second consecutive national ranked opponent on Tuesday, as Cabrini will visit No. 11 The College of New Jersey. Game time is scheduled for 7pm in Ewing, NJ.
