RADNOR, PA - The Cabrini men's tennis team swept out the visiting Immaculata University Mighty Macs on senior day thanks to a 9-0 final.
Senior's
Nick Tilley and
James Humes were honored before today's match as the pair will soon wrap up their careers in the Blue and White. Tilley and Humes have won a combined 29 matches for the Cavaliers and led the Blue and White to 30 victories since the 2016-17 season.
The Cavs quickly jumped out to a 3-0 lead following a sweep in doubles play, highlighted by sophomore's
Nick Falcone and
Ben Mead's 8-0 decision in the No. 1 flight.
Junior
CJ LaMantia and sophomore
Vince Paetow collected an 8-1 victory in No. 2 doubles, while junior
Matthew DeMaria and Tilley won be default in the No. 3 slot.
The Cavaliers rolled through singles play as LaMantia and Humes earned 6-0, 6-0 victories in flights No. 1 and 5, respectively. Tilley and Paetow, meanwhile, dropped just one game each as they cruised in the No. 2 and No.3 flights, respectively.
Falcone worked to a 6-2, 6-2 decision in the No. 4 slot, while DeMaria again won be default in the No. 6 flight to round out the Cavs match winners.
Following today's action, the Blue and White improve to 7-4 overall and 2-0 in Atlantic East Conference play. They will look to stay hot on Thursday, April 18th when they travel to Aston, PA to take on Neumann University. Match time is slated for 11am.
