ANNVILLE, PA - The Cabrini baseball team paired three runs in the eighth inning and six in the ninth inning to cruise to a comfortable 14-3 victory over the hosting Lebanon Valley College Dutchmen.
Mack McKisson paved the way offensively as the sophomore finished 3-5 with three runs and five RBI's, including his third home run of the season.
Senior
Tyler Norris, juniors
Shaun Stackhouse and
Joe Aurite, as well as sophomore
Brian Protesto each marked the hit column twice, with Stackhouse, Protesto and Aurite each driving in a run. Sophomore
Steven Priest finished 1-3 with two RBI's thanks to his second long ball of the year.
Sophomore
Corey Hunt toed the rubber for the Cavs and allowed three earned across 4.1 innings of work. Classmate
Drew Swire, who came on in relief of Hunt, collected his sixth victory of the season thanks to 2.2 shutout innings. Sophomore
Ray Lutick and junior

With some help from the Dutchmen defense, the Diamond Cavs jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first. A pair of errors, one throwing and one fielding, allowed Norris and freshman
Brandon Loner to touch home for the Cavs first runs of the game.
LVC would take the 3-2 lead in the bottom of the second, however, as Luke Blair and Chris DeClerico used an RBI double and two RBI single, respectively.
Following a single and stolen base from Stackhouse to lead of the fourth, Protesto worked walk to put runners on the corners with nobody out. A failed pickoff attempt at first ensued and allowed Stackhouse to score easily, tying the game at three apiece.
An inning later, Stackhouse came through again for the Diamond Cavs as he pulled a single through the left side to score McKisson and hand the Cavs a 4-3 lead. Protesto made it a 5-3 Cavalier lead in the sixth following another Lebanon Valley error as the sophomore would come around the score from second base.
As mentioned, the Cavs busted the game open in the eight and ninth innings as they drove in nine runs across the two frames. Homers from Priest and McKisson highlighted the crooked frames.
Lebanon Valley's Will Zimmerman was stuck with the loss after allowing three runs, zero earned, in four innings of work.
Following today's game the Diamond Cavs improve to 24-7 overall and stay pat at 9-1 in conference play. They'll wrap up their nonconference slate on Thursday, April 18th when travel to Williamsport, PA to take on Penn College. Game time is slated for 3:30pm.
