The Cavaliers won their seventh consecutive Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) title with an incredible come from behind victory over the Pacers in the 2018 championship game.
Marywood dominated the first half, as it led 9-4 with 11 minutes left in the opening period and held its five goal cushion until the final minutes of the first stanza.
Junior
Lauren Hughes' goal at the 3:07 mark drastically changed the momentum, as Cabrini outscored Marywood 14-3 over the game's final 33 minutes.
Senior
Avery Murphy paired six goals and a game-high 12 draw controls, becoming one of three Cavaliers to tally 100 points in a single season. Classmate
Emma Rodner-Tims scored three goals, while Hughes added a goal and three assists.
Junior
Sarah McCarron caused two turnovers, while senior
Katie Kucia scooped four ground balls. Senior goaltender
Devon Scharf came up big for the Blue and White recording 11 saves and six ground balls.
Junior Gwyneth Gleason paired two goals and two assists with five draw controls and three ground balls for the Pacers, while junior goaltender Mary Leahy tallied 11 saves.
Cabrini Last Time Out: Rowan 22, Cabrini 12 (3/30/2019, Glassboro, NJ)
After trailing 10-4 late in the first half, the Cavaliers closed the opening 30 minutes with three consecutive goals, pulling to within 10-7 at the half. Rowan pushed its lead back to 14-7 early in the second half, but, again, the Blue and White had an answer, cutting its deficit to 14-10 with 16:43 to play.
Unfortunately, the Cavaliers would get no closer, as the Profs outscored Cabrini 8-2 over the final 16 plus minutes.
Murphy led the Cavaliers with five goals, five draw controls, five ground balls and four caused turnovers. Tutzauer added two goals and two helpers, while Hughes and freshman
Dana Carlson tallied two goals each and combined for five ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Freshman goaltender
Sam Hamalak anchored the Blue and White defensive effort with a season-high 14 saves. Kucia chipped in with three caused turnovers and four ground balls.
Marywood Last Time Out: Marywood 17, King's (PA) 7 (3/31/2019, Scranton, PA)
The Pacers offense found its mojo early, as Marywood raced out to a 5-1 lead midway through the first half and never looked back. The home squad added eight unanswered goals during a 15 minute run, spanning the first and second halves, before pushing its lead to 17-5 late in the action.
Junior Molly Yelenics led the Pacers with a career best four goals, while classmate Zoe Simeone posted a game-high five points on four goals and a helper. Classmate Gina Babcock added four points on three goals and an assist.
Gleason stuffed the stat sheet with two goals, two assists, four ground balls, two caused turnovers and five draw controls, while sophomore Sami Stein paired four ground balls and two forced miscues. Leahy claimed the victory with six saves.
