RADNOR, PA - The Cabrini women's tennis team dropped a nonconference bout against the visiting Penn State University Berks Lions on Monday afternoon.
Junior
Sydney Lynch and freshman
Raechel Aviles battled in the No. 1 flight, but were edged by the Lions' Lexi Vidal and Alyssa Miller by an 8-2 final.
Freshman
Elizabeth Baddoo paired with junior
Lattana Sithara in No. 2 doubles, but they were also topped by an 8-2 final. Freshman
Alyssa Madden and sophomore
Miranda Smith took a victory by default in No. 3 doubles to get the Cavs their first match victory on the day.
Aviles hung tough against the Lions' Lexi Vidal in No. 2 singles, but ultimately fell by a 6-2, 6-3 final. Madden won a team best six games, but was topped by a 6-3, 6-3 final.
Lynch, Sithara and Baddoo were also topped by their Lions' counterparts.
Smith collected the Cavs only singles victory in the No. 6 slot as she won by default.
Following today's match, the Cavs move to 0-12 overall, but will look to get back on track when they travel to Immaculata, PA to take on the Mighty Macs. Match time is slated for 1pm.
