Women's Soccer Earns Draw Against Washington College

RADNOR, PA - The Cabrini women's soccer team used a late goal in the 64th minute to pick up the 1-1 draw against the visiting Washington College Shorewomen on Saturday afternoon.

Senior Katelyn Gilinger notched her second tally of the season, this one of the unassisted variety, as her second half goal evened the Blue and White with Washington College. The veteran tied for the team lead with two shots on the day as juniors Brianna Blair and Alex Garces also finished with a pair of shots.

In total, 10 different Cavaliers contributed to Cabrini's 13 shots on the day. The Shorewomen held a slight 6-3 advantage in shots on goal, while the Blue and White took a commanding 11-4 advantage in corner kicks.

The opening stanza featured a back and forth contest with the Washington College offense holding a slight advantage. Junior Ashley Tutzauer was up to the task, however as the netminder tallied three of her five saves in the first 45 minutes.

Despite her efforts, the Shorewomen would open the scoring early in the second half as Lauren Maynor took a pass from Maia Duval and managed to push the ball past Tutzauer for the 1-0 lead.

Gilinger responded just over 10 minutes later with her aforementioned strike to even things at one apiece. The two teams traded corners late in half, but neither offense was able to capitalize.

The offensive lul continued through both overtime periods as the two teams combined for just three shots with Tutzauer securing two saves.

Following today's game, the Blue and White move to 3-1-1 on the season and will look to get back in the win column on Thursday, September 19th when they host Rutgers-Camden at Edith Robb Dixon Field. Game time is slated for 7pm.
