SCRANTON, PA – The Cabrini swim teams passed their final Atlantic East Conference test of the regular season today, as the Cavaliers scored a pair of wins at Marywood University.
The men scored a 145.5-35.5 win, while the women triumphed 128-84.
The Blue and White men scored wins in all 11 events on the day, with junior
Nick Conroy and sophomores
Marc Consiglio and
Mac Granto tallying two wins each.
Conroy reached the wall first in the 200-yard individual medley (2:12.90) and 500-yard freestyle (5:19.97), while Consiglio topped the podium in the 100-yard butterfly (57.62) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.92).
Granto claimed victories in the 100-yard freestyle (49.84) and 200-yard freestyle (1:51.54), an event that the Blue and White went 1-2-3.
Like the men, a trio of women claimed multiple victories among the team's eight wins.
Sophomore
Maddie Werndl won both long distance events, taking the 1,000-yard (11:54.74) and 500-yard freestyle events (5:50.98). Classmate
Sarah Gudas won two of the day's shortest events, paring wins in the 50-yard (26.67) and 100-yard freestyles (57.54).
Junior
Tara McCloskey matched Werndl and Gudas' success, scoring win sin the 200-yard individual medley (2:20.43) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:09.51).
The Cavalier swill close their regular seasons on Saturday, as they welcome Alfred State to the Dixon Center Pool. The 2pm meet will also mark the program's annual Senior Day celebration, during which it will honor seniors
