IMMACULATA, PA – The Cabrini men's soccer team improved to 3-0 in the Atlantic East Conference today, as it scored a 3-1 victory at Immaculata.
The Cavaliers fell behind early, as Immcualata's John Bohrer put the home side on the board in the ninth minute.
Despite being outshot 9-3 in the first half, the Mighty Macs remained in control of the scoreboard until the final minutes of the period.
Freshman
Trent Valle leveled the score in the 43rd minute, converting a pass from senior
Christian Rafter into his third marker of the season.
The match remained tied until the early minutes of the second half, when sophomore
Nick LoBiondo found junior
Matt Duddy for the eventual game-winner.
LoBiondo put the win on ice in the 85th minute with an unassisted marker, his team-leading seventh goal of the season.
The Cavaliers recorded 21 shots to just five for the Mighty Macs and earned 10 corner kicks to four for the home side. Duddy and Rafter led the way with four shots each, while Valle and senior
Tyler Jankowski added three.
Sophomore goaltender
MJ Graham was needed for just one save, as he improved to 5-0 on the season.
Immaculata's Garrett Pepper suffered the loss despite notching eight saves.
The Cavaliers will try to remain unblemished in conference play on Friday, when they host rival Neumann University under the Edith Robb Dixon Field lights. The action is scheduled to get underway at 7pm.
