RADNOR, PA – After scoring 17 goals in their opening 11 goals, the Cavaliers have now scored 17 games during their current four game win streak after tonight's 4-1 victory over Neumann University at Edith Robb Dixon Field.
The win snapped a three game losing streak to the Knights and improved the Blue and White to 9-4-2 overall and 4-0 in the Atlantic East Conference with just two games left in the regular season.
The Cavaliers seized an early lead, as junior
Matt Duddy took advantage of a Neumann defensive miscue ant beat the Knights' goaltender Seth Walker to give Cabrini the lead just seven minutes into the match.
The Blue and White carried its slim lead into the halftime break after owning a slight 4-3 edge in shots.
The Cavaliers added to their lead in the 60th minute, once again calling on Duddy. Senior
Ben Cahill drove the right flank and turned the corner of the Neumann defense before sliding a pass to Duddy alone in front of the net for his fourth marker of the season.
Just eight minutes later, sophomore
Nolan Holloway etched his name in the score sheet, collecting a rebound from his own shot and depositing the ball into the back of the net for a 3-0 lead.
Fellow sophomore
Kevin Davis punctuated the victory in the 86th minute, heading a crossing pass from senior
Christian Rafter for his first career goal.
After a tight first half, the Cavaliers outshot the Knights 8-3 in the second half and recorded four corner kicks to two for the visitors.
Holloway led the Blue and White with three shots, one more than Duddy and Davis.
Sophomore goaltender
MJ Graham improved to 6-0 on the season after recording one save in tonight's win.
Jake Kuzmick notched an 87th minute goal for Neumann (5-9, 2-1 Atlantic East), while Walker finished the night with three saves.
The Cavaliers will try to stay unbeaten in league play on Wednesday, when they visit Marywood University. Kick is scheduled for 7pm in Scranton, PA.
