Strong Second Half Propels Women's Soccer to 2-0 Victory at Neumann

ASTON, PA - The Cabrini women's soccer team collected their third consecutive win this afternoon as a strong second half led to a 2-0 Atlantic East Conference (AEC) victory at Neumann University.

The Cavaliers controlled the majority of the play as they tallied 12 shots, with six on net, while limiting the Knights to three shots, two on net, over the course of the game. The Cavs also posted a 10-0 advantage in corners during the second half, and 11-1 advantage in the game.

Junior Rylie Butler broke the scoreless match as she headed a perfectly placed Riley Underwood corner past the Neumann keeper in the 70th minute, 1-0. Seven minutes later Butler headed in another ball off of a corner to make it 2-0, with an assist credited to Amanda Elwell.

With two goals, Butler recorded the first multi-goal game of her career and her second multi-point performance this season. Elwell's helper was the sophomore's first career point of any kind.

The Blue and White's defense, which limited the Knights defense to three shots in the game, did not allow a shot to get through to the net until the 73rd minute of play.

Between the pipes, graduate student Ashley Tutzauer recorded two saves for her conference leading sixth shutout of the year, and the fifth shutout in her last six starts. Tutzauer has the lowest goals against average in the AEC with a .736 goals against per-game and ranks second in the conference with a .792 save percentage.

Following today's game, the Blue and White improve to 7-4-2 overall and 3-0 in Atlantic East Conference play. They will return home to host Marywood University at Edith Robb Dixon Field this upcoming Wednesday. Match time is slated for 4:30pm.
