HACKETTSTOWN, NJ - The Cabrini women's soccer team closed out the regular season on the road with a 1-1 double-overtime draw at Centenary University.
After a scoreless first half, sophomore
Paige Bowman notched her second tally of the season in the 78th minute, assisted by junior
Rebekah Cunningham, as her second half goal put the Blue and White ahead 1-0. Cabrini held onto the lead for 25 seconds before Cassandra Ferguson found the back of the net for the home team to knot the score at one apiece.
Cabrini held a 5-1 advantage in shots over the course of two overtimes and a 2-0 advantage in corners but could not capitalize as they played to a 1-1 tie after a full 110 minutes of play.
Cunningham took a game-high and career-high five shots with two on frame. Senior
Kait Cloud and sophomore
Ella Marrollo each attempted four shots, with one apiece on net. In total, 13 different Cavaliers contributed to Cabrini's 27 shots on the day.
The Blue and White held a commanding 27-3 advantage in shots with a nine-to-two lead in shots on goal. The Cavs also 12 corner attempts to the Cyclones zero.
Graduate student
Ashley Tutzauer was credited with one save in 110 minutes of action.
Following today's game, the Blue and White move to 8-5-3 on the season and 4-1-1 in the AEC. Cabrini finished second in the conference and will play the seventh seeded Gwynedd Mercy University Griffins at home on Monday. Game time is slated for 7pm.
