SCRANTON, PA - The No. 2 seeded Cabrini University women's soccer team claimed their third conference title in four seasons, following today's 1-0 penalty kick victory over No. 1 seeded Marywood University.
The Cavaliers closed out the season with a 13-5-4 record overall, 7-1-1 in conference.
Through regulation and overtime, the Blue and White held an 18-9 advantage in shots, including a 12-6 margin in shots on goal. Cabrini also held a decisive 8-1 advantage in corners, and did not allow a corner attempt after the 27th minute.

Rebekah Cunningham's penalty kick goal in the fifth round of PKs clinched the victory for the Cavaliers. Cunningham also attempted a game-high five shots with two on frame. Sophomore

Jamie Falgie also netted goals in the second and third round of Pks, respectively. Graduate student
Brianna Blair and sophomore Paige Blair were credited with a team-high two shots on goal.
The Cavs defense stymied the Marywood offense in the opening frame as the Pacers were held without a shot attempt until the opening minute of the second half. Despite a handful of chances in the first half Cabrini could not find the back of the net as the teams went into the break tied nil-nil.
Both teams turned up the offensive pressure in the second stanza as there were a combined 16 shots across the final 45 minutes of regulation, including 10 for the Cavaliers, but none were ultimately able to find the back of the net.
In the first overtime, the Cavaliers attempted two shots with one on net but goalkeeper Rebekah Becker kept the Pacers hopes alive.
Graduate student
Ashley Tutzauer, who was named the championship game's Most Valuable Player, was relied upon to make two of her six saves on the day in double overtime. She also only Tutzauer now has six consecutive AEC playoff shutouts and her career-high 10
th shutout of the season.
Following today's match, they Blue and White will turn their attention to the NCAA Selection Announcements where they'll find out if they've earned a bid into the 2021 NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament. The NCAA Selection Show is scheduled for Monday, November 8th at 1pm and will be streamed live on NCAA.com.
