RADNOR, PA – The Cabrini swim teams made their home debuts today, as the Cavaliers played host to Elizabethtown and Bryn Mawr Colleges.
The Blue and White men and women swept the Blue Jays with scores of 131-71 and 99-98, respectively, while the women suffered a 129-73 loss to Bryn Mawr.
Senior
Cameron Mousley and sophomore
Tommy Ronayne paced the men, scoring a pair of individual event wins.
Mousley captured the 200-yard individual medley (2:06.93) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:01.66). Ronayne climbed to the top of the podium in the 200-yard freestyle (1:49.71) and the 200-yard butterfly (2:05.22).
Four other Cavaliers also captured individual wins on the day. Freshman
CJ LaBianco was victorious in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:02.22), while classmate
Logan DeConti added a win in the 200-yard backstroke (2:03.18).
Sophomore
Colin Taggart reached the wall first in the 50-yard freestyle (22.23), as did senior
Mac Granto in the 100-yard freestyle (49.43).
The Cabrini men also bookeneded the meet with a pair of relay victories. The quartet of DeConti, sophomores
Michael Gray and
Matt Seifried and Granto teamed to win the day's first event, the 200-yard medley relay (1:43.57), while Seifried, Ronayne, sophomore
Tom McLaughlin and Taggart punctuated the action with a win in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:32.36).
Graduate student
Tara McCloskey powered the women's squad, scoring wins in the 200-yard individual medley (2:20.25) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:30.72).
Senior
Sarah Gudas paired a win in the 50-yard freestyle (22.62) with a second place finish in the 100-yard freestyle (58.16).
McCloskey and Gudas also teamed with freshman
Kate Ziegler and senior
Tara Frino to earn a second place finish in the 200-yard medley relay (2:00.5).
The Cavaliers will have a slight break from competition before returning to action on Nov. 20-21 for the Diamond City Invitational, hosted by King's College.
