Women's Lacrosse Cruises to 20-5 Win at Neumann

ASTON, PA – For the second time in as many days, the Cabrini women's lacrosse team built an early lead and cruised to victory.

Tonight, the Cavaliers built a 5-0 lead en route to a 20-5 victory at Neumann. The win improved the Blue and White to 2-0 in the Atlantic East Conference and evened its record at 2-2 overall.

Nine Cavaliers marked the scoring column, led by sophomore Dana Carlson, who paired five goals and three assists. Taylor Dimmerling added six points in the win, including a career best four assists.

Sophomore Kelly Sweeney's four points also matched a career best, as the sophomore joined Dimmerling, sophomore Olivia Little and freshmen Olivia Pace and Victoria Zielke with two goals.

Freshman Marissa Mullan also notched her first career tally.

Sophomore goaltender Sam Hamalak posted five saves and provided the backstop to a defensive effort that held the Knights to just 13 shots and pressured them into 19 turnovers.

Classmate Shea Neary stuffed the stat sheet to the tune of three goals, a game-high seven draw controls, three ground balls and two caused turnovers.

Little chipped in with three ground balls, two caused turnovers and two draw controls, while junior Ashley Tutzauer added a goal, a helper and three draw controls.

Pace put the Cavaliers on the board at the 26:44 mark with Carlson doubling the lead 72 seconds later. Little, Carlson and Dimmerling added to the advantage over the next three minutes, as Cabrini extended its lead to 5-0 before Neumann junior Brylin Adams put the home side on the board.

The Cavaliers showed no let-up, as their 27-6 first half shot advantage and just three turnovers spurred the visitors to a 15-2 lead at the halftime break.

Adams led Neumann (1-1, 0-1 Atlantic East) with two goals, an assist and three draw controls. Junior goaltender Catriona Corrigan posted 12 saves in the loss.

Cabrini will put its two game win streak on the line on Saturday, as the Immaculata Mighty Macs (2-2, 1-1 Atlantic East) pay a visit to Edith Robb Dixon Field. The opening draw is slated for 1pm.
