Women's Lacrosse Tops Immaculata for 3rd Straight Win

RADNOR, PA – The Cabrini women's lacrosse team extended its current win streak to three games and improved to 3-0 in the Atlantic East Conference today, as the Cavaliers rolled to a 20-4 win over the visiting Immaculata Mighty Macs at Edith Rob Dixon Field.

Cabrini got solid contributions from up and down the line-up today, as nine players recorded at least one point. Sophomore Olivia Little led the way with seven points on three goals and four assists.

Classmate Dana Carlson found the back of the net four times, en route to a six point day, while junior Taylor Dimmerling posted five goals on just six shots.

Freshman Olivia Pace recorded a hat trick, while sophomore Shea Neary stuffed the stat sheet with two goals, two assists, eight draw controls, five caused turnovers and three ground balls. Dimmerling and freshman Caroline Gallagher forced three Immaculata miscues and scooped two ground balls each.

Sophomore netminder Sam Hamalak earned the victory, despite not being pressed into action in 37 minutes, but reserve goaltender freshman Abbey Fenton notched five saves.

The Blue and White took control of the game in the opening minutes, as Little found Dimmerling for a marker just 44 seconds in the game. The duo both marked the scoring column over the next several minutes as the lead grew to 3-0 before the junior Ashley Hankin's free position shot put the Mighty Macs on the board at the 23:51 mark.

Both teams exchanged goals over the next three minutes, but Little's free position goal with just under 21 minutes left in the opening stanza sparked the Cavaliers. The Blue and White reeled off 13 consecutive goals while holding the visitors to just one shot.

The Cavaliers carried a commanding 17-2 lead after outshooting Immaculata 27-3 in the opening 30 minutes. Cabrini also pressured the Mighty Macs into just 2-10 clear attempts as the home side put the game away.

Hankins and freshman Kaitlyn Klitcho scored two goals each for Immaculata (2-3, 1-2 Atlantic East). Junior goaltender Katie Mulvey added five saves in the loss.

The Cavaliers will hit the road on Wednesday, as the Blue and White makes the trip to Dover, DE to face Wesley (1-2, 0-2 Atlantic East). The opening draw is scheduled for 5pm.
