Game Recap: Lacrosse (Women) |

Carlson, Neary Enter Record Book in Win at Wesley

DOVER, DE – The Cabrini women's lacrosse team pushed its current win streak to four games with today's 16-3 victory at Wesley College. The victory improved the Cavaliers to 4-0 in the Atlantic East Conference and 4-2 overall.

Sophomores Dana Carlson and Shea Neary anchored the Blue and White, while etching their names in the program's record book.

Carlson scored a game-high five goals on just five shots. In doing so, the sophomore surpassed the 100 career goals plateau, needing just 31 games to accomplish the feat. Likewise, Neary added seven draw controls to her stat line of four ground balls and two points, becoming just the10th player in program history to record 100 career draw controls.

Fellow sophomore Olivia Little added three goals and a helper, while juniors Taylor Dimmerling and Ashley Tutzauer combined for three goals and three assists. Tutzauer also secured six ground balls, three more than Dimmerling and freshman Moira Ward.

Sophomore Sam Hamalak was called on for just two saves in the victory, while nine Cavaliers tallied one caused turnover each.

After nearly five scoreless minutes of action, Carlson made her mark on the game, scoring three goals in less than two minutes, including her 100th at the 23:26 mark. The Cavaliers kept their collective feet on the gas, outshooting the Wolverines 25-2 in the opening 30 minutes, building a 9-0 cushion at the half.

Wesley got on the board early in the second half, finding the back of the net twice in a span of 53 seconds. Tutzauer's first goal stopped the Wolverines' scoring run and sparked the visitors to a run of six unanswered goals and a 15-2 mark on freshman Marissa Mullan's goal with 13 minutes to play.

On the day, the Cavaliers built a 38-6 advantage in shots and pressured the host into 32 turnovers.

Wesley goaltender Katelyn Porter led the Wolverines (1-3, 0-3 Atlantic East) with 11 saves, while Margaret Johnson added a goal, six ground balls and four draw controls.

The Cavaliers will enjoy the Easter break before returning to action on April 7, when they travel to Arlington, VA to face Marymount University (4-1, 3-0 Atlantic East). Game time is slated for 4pm.
