SCRANTON, PA - The cabrini women's tennis team suffered their second loss of the season this afternoon as the host Marywood University Pacers secured a 9-0 victory.
The Pacers scored wins over junior Raechel Avilies and sophomore
Sydney Kesselman in No. 1 doubles, as well as sophomore
Natalie Bell and senior
Miranda Smith in No. 2 doubles. They took the 3-0 match lead following a Cavalier forfeit in No. 3 doubles.
Aviles matched up against Marywood's Caroline Cadden in No. 1 singles, but was topped by a 6-0, 6-0 decision. Bell and Kesselman won a combined five games, but were ultimately edged by a 6-1, 6-1 and 6-3, 6-0 decision, respectively. Smith capped the Cavs singles action following an 0-6, 0-6 final against the Pacers' Lyndsey Medric.
Following this afternoon's match, the Cavaliers move to 0-2 overall and in conference play. They will aim to break into the win column when they next host Immaculata University on Saturday, April 17th. Match time is slated for 12 pm.
