GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA - The Cabrini women's tennis team opened their Spring slate with a 7-0 loss at the hands of Gwynedd Mercy University.
The Griffins opened the dual match with an 8-0 victory in No. 1 doubles and a 8-1 victory in No. 2 doubles.
Junior
Raechel Aviles fell by a 0-6, 1-6 final in No. 1 singles, while sophomore
Natalie Bell was topped 1-6, 0-6 in the No. 2 slot. Fellow sophomore
Sydney Kesselman battled, but was ultimately topped by Gwynedd's Jen Eisemann by way of a 0-6, 5-7 decision.
Freshman
Kara Bradl forced a tie breaker in an exciting match against the Griffins' Shannon Carroll, but Carroll managed to hang on for a slim 6-3, 7-6 (7-1) victory. Senior
Miranda Smith rounded out the Cavs singles matches with a 2-6, 3-6 loss in the No. 5 flight.
Following today's match, the Cavs move to 0-1 on the young season. They will look to even their record when they travel to Marywood University on Saturday, April 10th to face the Pacers. Match time is set for 1pm.
