HUNTINGDON, PA – The Cabrini University women's soccer team fell to host Juniata College, 1-0, in double overtime of a non-conference match Saturday afternoon.
The Cavaliers fell to 0-2-1 overall while the Eagles improved their record to 2-2-1 on the year.
Cabrini had four corner opportunity to Juniatas' one in the first half. The Eagles out shot the Cavs 2-0 through the first 45 minutes of play, but neither team could find the twine as the score remained 0-0 headed into the second frame.
The home team applied pressure in the second half with four shots, two on net, but the blue and white held on to force the game into overtime.
Cabrini had a chance to end the game in the first overtime as Maria Hagan headed a ball over the net off a Kait Cloud corner in the 93rd minute.
Early in the second overtime Fiona McDonald headed a ball off a corner and into the net for the 1-0 final.
Ashley Tutzauer played a solid game between the pipes and kept the team in the game, she finished with three saves.
Cabrini will return to action this Wednesday as it hosts Arcadia University at 4 p.m.
